What Is BNI?

A nonprofit organization incorporated in March 1959, BNI is committed to fighting housing discrimination, supporting integrated communities, improving relations between tenants and landlords, providing community education and advocating for persons with disabilities on housing accessibility issue.

 
What does BNI do?

BNI protects the rights of people to choose where they live by working for justice in housing through fair housing law testing and enforcement, and ensuring compliance with tenant/landlord laws throughout Maryland.

Who does BNI serve?

The Fair Housing department serves the state of Maryland. The Tenant-Landlord department all of Maryland, with the exception of Montgomery County.

How is BNI funded?

BNI is funded by local, state, and federal grants, corporate and foundation gifts, the religious community, through various community organizations and donations from people like you. To make a Donation, please click here

What are BNI’s hours of operation?

The Administration and Fair Housing departments are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Tenant Landlord Hotline is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
